There are a number of methods that you can follow to disable the Windows 7 activation message. You need to know that the only method by which you can remove that activation message is by activating your Windows.

So, in this article, we will share two methods that you can follow in order to remove the activation message.

Method #1: Using Services

You can hide the activation notification by using services. To do that, follow these steps.

Step 1: First of all, simply open Start. You can do that by clicking on the Windows icon of the bottom left corner of your screen.

Step 2:  Now in the search bar, you have to type “Services”. In the results, you have to click on the “Services” app. This app allows controlling which framework measures run.

Step 3: Click on Services and open it.

Step 4: You will see a lot of options. You need to search for “Software Protection”. Click on the “S” button of your keyboard to go directly to the S section.

Step 5: After that, you need to click on the “Properties” icon located on the top left corner of your screen. This icon is located exactly under the “View” tab.

Step 6:  Click on it and a new window will pop up on your screen.

Step 7: On this window, there will be many options. You need to click on “Stop”. By clicking this option the Software Protection service will stop running. In case the option is not working, you will have to use the Registry.

Step 8: At the end, click on the “OK” button placed on the bottom of the window.

But remember that when you update or restart your computer, the notification will be displayed again so you have to follow this method again.

Method #2: Using Registry Editor

This is the second method that you can follow to hide the activation message.

Step 1: Firstly, open start. You can do that by clicking on the Windows icon of the bottom left corner of your screen.

Step 2: Open the search bar and search for “regedit”. This will directly search for the Registry Editor Command.

Step 3: In the results, click and open regedit.

Step 4: Now you need to click on “Yes” in order to open the Registry Editor.

Step 5:  On the top left side of your screen, you will see a lot of folders. But the folder you are looking for is the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” folder. Just click on the folder to expand the folder.

Step 6: Now you will see many options in this folder. You need to click on the “System” folder in order to expand the folder.

Step 7: Click on the “CurrentControlSet” folder to open and expand.

Step 8: Now you need to click on the “Services” folder to open and expand. After expanding this folder you will see a lot of new folders in a list.

Step 9: In this long list, you need to search for the “sppsvc” folder. Just open this folder and the files of this folder will appear on your screen.

Step 10: In these files, search for the “Start” file. This file will be located in the last part of the list.

Step 11: Now click on the “Edit” tab. This tab will be placed on the top left corner of your screen.

Step 12: Now click on “Modify” in the new window.

Step 13: Now on the new window, simply type 4. This step will result in the Activation message stopping.

Step 14: Just click on “OK” and you are done.
